Steve Jobs will Kill Me

So, ever since they announced the iPad I wanted it to be a drawing tablet. I’ll admit, it’s damn close, except for one tiny problem. There’s no damn pressure sensitivity. It’s kind of important for a drawing tablet, and I’ve been so desperate for a solution I emailed Ten One Design, a group that managed to turn Macbook trackpads into pressure sensitive tablets.  I was surprised to see they answered me quite thoroughly. The sent two emails. TWO. For the 3 lines of question I sent them.

“Hi Matt,
Thanks for writing….Yes, we do have pressure sensitive drawing working on the iPad, and it’s really great.Unfortunately, due to the restrictions placed on iPhone/iPad developers, we are unable to release this into the app store….We’ll continue to work on this, but we definitely can’t even guess to when pressure sensitive drawing might become sanctioned for the iPad.  From our perspective, it can’t come soon enough.
Thanks”
That’s the gist of it anyway. So the problem here isn’t technical, it’s the iron fist of Jobs. I’d email Apple too, but we all know how Steve Jobs reacts to insubordination.
